- waded in blood filled waters while shark fishing
- wandered through alpine meadows and valleys
- camped among bears
- lived on three continents and traveled in eight foreign countries
- loved two women

- joined a secret society
- earned my eagle scout
- listened to loons while canoeing in Canada
- watched one solar eclipse and several lunar eclipses
- watched a meteor shower
- stayed up all night talking and watched the sunrise with good friends
- learned how to roll a cigarette & blow smoke rings
- shot, killed, and skinned a rabbit
- participated in a yabusame tournament/ceremony wearing traditional shinto clothing
- put out a house fire
- survived another house fire
- watched buffalo and wild mustangs on the open plain
- backpacked in the Ozarks, Ouachita, Devil’s Den, and Philmont
- been thrown from and dragged by a horse
- changed a flat tire in the Arizona desert in summer
- changed my students’ lives
- wrote for a newspaper
- gone scuba diving
- learned CPR
- learned to play the cello
- played with my nephew
- flown in a helicopter
- helped a stranger
- attended a buddhist funeral
